FAQ
The marriage ticket for the temple mandapams can be booked from the Guruvayur Devasom website under 'Other Services'. A Marriage Ticket allows the bride & groom and upto 10 guests access into the mandapam area. Separate tickets are required for photographers/videographers and additional guests over the 10 guests per ticket.
The charges for the tickets vary from time to time. Please call our event management team for up to date information.
Once the marriage function is completed, the marriage certificate can be applied for at the Guruvayur Municipality. The following documents are required -
- * Passport/Aadhaar card/Driving License/School Certificate/ Birth Certificate with the date of birth listed for both Bride and Groom
- * Three Passport size photographs for both Bride and Groom
- * Wedding Invitation Card
- * Two witnesses with their ID Proof
- * Form II to be certified by Gazetted Officer/Ward Member/MP/MLA (Round Seal must)
- * Thalikettu Photo
Additionally, if the marriage is not their first, the municipality requires -
- * If the divorce is by mutual consent, the court order is required for marriage registration. If the divorce is not by mutual consent, an affidavit is required from a notary public.
- * If the person is a widow or widower, the death certificate of partner and the original marriage certificate is required.
The marriage certificate will be issued same day by the Guruvayur Municipality after verification of all the above documents. However, it must be noted that the new husband and wife must appear in person in front of the registrar for signing the registration of the marriage.
The marriage registration forms can be filled online at the Kerala government website - Kerala Sevana. Please choose Thrissur district, local body type Municipality and local body as Guruvayur. You can find the marriage online filing instructions here.
